Heads up for those in the Raleigh, NC area!

I'll be retiring for real and closing my repair shop, The Roundhouse & Backshop, located inside Tom's Train Station effective 1 July 2014.

No new drop off jobs will be accepted after 15 April 2014, and 'While you wait' repairs will be limited to parts on hand until I close.

This closing does not involve the Tom's Train Station retail store, only my repair shop located inside Tom's.

I'll still be hanging around the forums, and maybe actually getting some kind of permanent layout built finally.

Oh wow! Talk about mixed emotions.  I'm happy for you, your retirement, and the layout you've talked about that you might get built now.  But I'm disappointed - seeing and talking with you -- and tapping into the fountain of kowledge you have about the railroad industry and toy trains -- is something I look forward to when I come by the store.

My Father in-law retired recently, invited the family down to Florida. He has been enjoying seeing all the sights. We stumbled upon this gem. The USS Tampa Victory ship. A time capsule, full working armed cargo ship. complete. The only moving WW2 museum with full hands on experience! The public is welcome to climb all over this little time capsule. He is really enjoying life, and I was enjoying his camaraderie.
