Cmx O-Gauge 3 rail track cleaner

I have a different brand of track cleaner and do not recommend using it except in an area where you can not easily get to. Do you own manual cleaning as that is the best way to clean tracks. My two cents is that track cleaning cars are more bother then they are worth.

Thank you for your comment, I have so many places that I can't reach to manually clean so a car was the only answer. This cleaning car was recommended to me so I guess I will try and make it work. I just wonder if anyone else has this car and how they made it work for them Thanks Bob

I use a version of Dennis' home made cleaner car. Works as good as anything else I've tried.  I run 2, one with a scotchbrite pad and a second with paper towel pad to pick up the crud the front one loosens.

Do a search here for Dennis' car, he will probably email the instructions on construction to you. He has done so in the past.

 

If you are dead set on a commercial version, I like the look of the R & L Car.

I just opened my new CMX 3-rail clean machine and it had a broken truck coupler. The paperwork indicates the trucks are "standard Athearn delrin trucks" but I can not locate these guys anywhere. Does anyone know who sales Athearn O scale trucks with couplers?

 

If it's new, why not send it back?

 

I had the same thing happen to me with the new product and I called and they sent a new one and asked to have the old one back to see what was wrong. Very good turn around from company
