Tom,
I made one that is 18" high, and 4' long, my 5 arch high bridge, which can be found through my link below.   You can look at it for proportionals.

Hi Tom, I just now saw your request on this forum. I might have just what you need. See photo below. Let me know of any questions.

jim R- really nice bridge but really big too.

A less expensive way is to take a piece or pieces of 2" thick Styrofoam ( 2" for one line double to 4" for 2 lines) Then using a 3"-4" hole cutter drill holes through foam at the same height along the run equally spaced leaving about 2 inch between the holes and above the holes.

Then cut the foam at the bottom upward into the sides of the holes. You will then have in Styrofoam a series of arches with supports.

At this point if the arches are concrete paint the foam arches a water-based concrete color;

if you want a masonry arch then carve the stones around the arch putting a keystone at the top of each arch; then using a straight edge carve the horizontal joints and then carve the vertical jointing. Paint a stone color

OR purchase some stone title at LOWES and attached to the arches.

See this is a lot of work that bridgeboss takes care of with their arches ready made!!

Jim, Thank you, that is exactly the size, however not the style, I need to build at one of my bridge locations.  $_____?

There are at 7 single track bridges I am building on my new RR and two of them need to cross a 24" deep X 96" wide canyon.

The other five will need to be lifted out for mechanical or access purposes.

What I am looking for are cross section dimensions of customary proportions for arch ratios of pier body/spacing to deck thickness/span.  That is one of the 8' bridges I need.

There is a Sydney harbor (Austraila) /Hells Gate (NY,NY) style bridge carrying rt  40 over the Susquhanna River at Havre de Grace MD. that I want to build for which I need cross section member sizes.  This is the second bridge for my 8' canyon.

This is an point to point around the room layout canterlevered off a basement wall averaging 32" wide and about 178' long on four levels.

Mike, thank you for the reminder, I remember the construction series of his plaster bridge.  I will shoot Al an email.

Tim, gotta check it out!  tt

Molds for Martin Creek near complete for O scale. Have built the Nichelson in S for client, and finishing the arches for martincreek this coming spring. Peirs and layout templates complete and installed on my layout see pictures. I am custom modelmaker and work at reasonable rates,   Contact me . see my other projects
