I am also interested in knowing this. I glad I am not the only one. Hoping Dave Olsen chimes in to verify or not. I know it will be a deal breaker for our club if it won’t work.

No sir. You’ll need to read the writing about the cab 3 app in the new Lionel 2022 Signature catalog. The Cab 3, as I understand it will work with the cab 1, cab 1L, and the cab 2 remotes. If I’ve read the information provided, the cab 2 base is not necessary either. It’s going to be really neat when it becomes available. The cab 1 remote is not available anymore except on the secondary market, and now the cab 2 remote is no longer in production, it’s going away. My recommendation is purchase a cab 1L set as soon as you can. Good luck, Happy Railroading Everyone
Larry, that is not the question. We know you can’t simply use a Cab1 to talk directly with either a Legacy Base or the Base3. The Cab1 can communicate with a Legacy Base via a Command Base that is connected to a Legacy Base via serial data.
The question now is can the Command Base Communicate with the Base3 via serial to USB adapter.
Its not explicitly stated that it can or can’t.
