Dam (beaver) good idea!
It's not mentioned in the press release, but the beaver has a name: Cornelius. This was the middle name of William Cornelius VanHorne, who was the driving force in building the CP out to British Columbia, and then stretching the route across the "shield" of Ontario to reach the Eastern cities of Toronto, Quebec City and Montreal.
That's great. Now they need to bring back the original CP paint scheme in tuscan and grey. Lose the red!
Great to hear this - it's a wonderful logo.
As for the "CP" logo, I'd prefer they put that one away, and start spelling out "Canadian Pacific" again.

Nope. Glad to see it.
Very nice!!! Always a favorite of mine.

Noooooo! LOL I guess I'm in the minority but I love the unspoiled fire-engine red look!
My pet peeve is the CP on the nose. That has NEVER looked right to me. The letter spacing or something is all wrong.
The movie "Rocky Mountain Express" shows VanHorne and the building of the trans-canada railroad. A truly amazing feat. Beautiful movie - I often just watch it for the scenery and the steam engine.
Nice to see The "Beaver"(Cornelius) come back to the spotlight! A sign of things to come? Lets hope so!
So glad to see this!
Now, about 2816 . . .?
Nah................
That looks fantastic!
Didn't they have Cornelius on an all-gold emblem in the late 1990's or early 2000's as well?
Those old school versions of the beaver has always been my favorite railroad logo.
This is, at least, a step in the right direction.
I always liked the look of the CB beaver logo, and am glad that they are bringing it back in their new design. And finding out that he had a name all along is cool. Welcome back, Cornelius.
I have the Lionel operating box based on the 6464 body in CP spelled out.. Silver body with classic beaver logo. I got it because of the beaver logo. Do not know if Cornelius owned such a car in reality.
