Cool.  Years ago someone made a kit to turn a beer can into a railcar.

I have a Coors Walther's kit beercan car and aniother kit...since these Atlas cars are modern cars, and l would have to search to verify authenticity, if any, ...well the "modern" puts me out of the market, but l am glad Atlas is still generating interesting cars.  I would like to know if beer was ever shipped in a tankcar lot?

Im waiting for Atlas O to do these cars justice with real markings and lowered frame.

When I was running N scale, I had an Atlas beer can tank car. It was yellow and grey and lettered for Dow Chemical Company.  Actually, I still have it…after 46 years…

I would love to see one on O scale!

I don't think beer was ever shipping in tank cars. What you're likely to find is cars with barley(?) which is used for making beer. Most of the beer back in the days and I think today was shipped in metal kegs. And once brewed loaded onto truck to haul to final distribution points. When I used to go by the Budweiser brewery on I-25 just north of Ft. Collins CO I remember seeing a lot of hoppers (maybe gondolas?) on rails, but lots of truck leaving the south side of the plant.

Looks cool to me.

I ordered all eight of them. Six have been delivered (thank you Steve Nelson and crew); the seventh will arrive when the last one ships in August. They were hard to resist even though I don't drink beer. I have a Walthers beer can tank car kit and found a 16-ounce old style steel beer can from a brewery that was based in Los Angeles that will be the "tank." Now that the others are here, I guess I should get to building it.

I had  heard that Coors had some lined tank cars for shipping beer to other plants for bottling/canning, but they looked like any other black tank car. I'm not sure but I recall the reporting marks being "ADCX".
