The only place I have seen these was in the upstairs shop over the hobby shop in Strasburg close to the

Strasburg RR/Pa. RR Museum.  They are, I think S Scale, and I don't think???? still available.  I was envious

of some of them as vehicles I could have used in an O scale version and THINK I may have, some years ago,

before internet, written the company asking for 1/48th versions, and arguing that the market would be bigger

for O scale versions and would include 1/43 vehicle collectors as well as train nuts.  Do not remember getting a reply. This, of course, is another model vehicle question "how come they make these in 1/32nd, 1/26.5, or other oddball scales?"  1/64th, of course, is not an oddball scale, and these should have been, and luckily were, made for that scale.  I would guess a number are in use in background, perspective deepening, applications on O gauge layouts, although they were as expensive as Brooklins.

I wonder if anybody knows the history of this company, DeHanes?

Well, I answered my own questions, to an extent, with an internet search,  although I didn't learn much about the origin of the company.  Apparently it started about 1980 (I thought I had seen their stuff before that), and is still very active, although I have never seen their stuff, even in a toy show (beyond that shop in Strasburg).  Even the S scale guys are, like O scalers with 1/43rd, probably unenchanted with much of their stuff over size for S scale in 1/55th models. However, I found a few O scale useable  truck models in 1/50th, 1 43rd, and even one in 1/48th! (Shotgun scaling is prevalent)

Some are specifically identified as to year, many are not...so you have to do your

homework and become a truck expert (as well as RR) to determine if you can use one.

Detailed information seems to deal primarily with the history of the lettered truck line,

and not that of the tractor, in which I always want to know when a certain tractor

model was introduced, just as I do freight cars.
