I have three MTH Premier Union Pacific passenger cars (2 coachs and an observation) that I want to custom detail. Attached is photos of one of the cars and what I want them to look like. My question is what size styrene should I use? I was looking at .080 thick stuff but I'm not sure if that's too thick or not. Also, I'd like to get chairs very similar to the cars chairs, who would have them? I'm think scale city designs but I'm not sure. Thanks for the help.

Take a Look at Delta Products in Oregon, they have complete Detail Parts for passenger cars.

Mikey

I'll take a look at them. They have a website?

Also Precision Scale Models (PSC) would have those chairs. BTW, what did you do with the O.E.M. interior?

I.M.H.O. .080 is very thick. .030 is more than enough for the floor. And .020 is good for walls. If you upgraded the lighting to led's then your interior walls can be .010 ( cause you have no heat inside to potentially warp them)

I threw the OEM interior in the trash since I knew I wanted to start from scratch with the interior and build my own. I did convert all three cars to LEDs. I will use the thinner .030 stuff and have a look at PSC for the chairs.

You could have sold that hear on the forum! Help with the funding of this project!

Darn. I didn't think of that. Oh well.

Finally got back to work on this project. Got the interior made up for the observation car. For my first time doing it I think it turned out alright. Let me know what you think.
