Today at BMRS!
I couldn't resist after seeing the minion locomotive posted earlier today! Kids at the club noticed it right away... parents had no idea!

Those came out great Ed. Fun kids train. Apropos with movie opening. Thank you.
Very nice. Like it....
I like it, they are a hoot.
I picked up a couple packs of the Mini-Minions at Walmart and have them scattered around the layout.

Same here got some at both Walmart & Target. I don't know if it was a pricing error or just a way to make room for the next cycle of toys to come in for fall/winter, but I couldn't resist buying the larger talking/singing ones on a $15 clearance.
That's great, very cool idea!
You need to make a minion caboose.
Fun
Another Minion photo from a few months ago – Minions waiting to board a Greyhound bus to New York City.
Thanks,

I like it Eddie. Very timely and it sure gets the attention of the kids out there.

I just saw it today myself. Did you notice all the references to 1968 ? The
Nixon poster. The Beatles walking across Abbey Road ?
Eddie,
Great stuff for the kids, way to go!

Great idea to interest the kids in the layout!
Looks like fun! I had added some from the earlier movies to the Troublesome trucks.
Kids and adults were roaring in laughter when our family went to see the movie!
Toys R Us has a couple of nice packs of these characters that look good with O Gauge.
Got some to add to some of the trains that kids will run at shows!
There are also some little Lego Packs of Minions shown on the last photo.
Very popular with the kids.
Too bad they did not have a Minions train running in the movie!
A LionChief set for the kids would be great!
I made a quick caboose for Ed's train.
Nice one
I need some minions!!!
Do they come "prewar" style, or do I just need the primitive ones with the bones and clubs? LOL
RichO,
Man that is fantastic! What an imagination you have. You should be working for Disney buddy.

Fantastic ! Our 11 yr old loves the Minions ... we'll have to add Minions to Sodor !
I have liked the minions ever since they came out in the first despicable me movie in 2010. they did not make many minions after the first movie. but they sure took off.
At our holiday layout in Round Rock TX a couple years ago, one of our club members found some minions and brought them to the layout. We decided to hide them and include them in the scavenger hunt of things to find on the layout. they were such a hit that we added more last year. After a while my son Ricky (TxEagle77) started moving them around to make it harder. Can't wait to do it again this year!

Austin Tinplate Trackers
Minions have been seen on the PIHR layouts for several years.
This one has been spotted on the Polar Express during the holiday season:
This pair stand guard over the T.A.R.D.I.S.:
Some have been spotted waiting to ride a train in the proper fashion:
And some just hanging out:

Yes, indeed, where?
I've been a Dr Who fan since I was in my pre-teens and have never seen a really good O scale one. I have a keychain that is more like S scale, though and once I removed the screw from the chain, it makes for a good TARDIS to sit on a shelf.

How'd you get one in the Beep ?
Cut one in half ?
jhz563 posted:
I found it in the science fiction section of a Barnes & Noble book store about 3-4 years ago. The light on top works, as well. I'll have to check it for manufacturer info when I get home tonight as I don't think I still have the box.

OK, don't get grossed out but I bought a 3-D printed O scale porta potty from Diecast Direct. It's blue, it's got four sides, a roof, and a door that opens. I like to joke that it looks bigger on the inside than you'd expect, a TARDIS allusion. It might be adaptable -- although, perhaps a bit narrow proportion-wise.

I got mine in a comic book/gaming store. In Seattle underground mall. They had a huge selection of Dr Who and different sizes.

I'm not a fantasy fan but these guys are outrageous. I'm definitely going to buy a bunch of them.
Here is a photo of a kids display I did I replaced the gateman with Minions. Redid the gatehouse with a Tortoise switch motor so they push the button and it slowly opens and guys in front turn and come out of the gatehouse then push button other way they slowly go back in and door closes and other guy turns. Works much better being slow!
And you can see the guys on the freight cars.
more minions @ spotted Clem's....
the boss is watching....
shweeehh- wee, minions, minions everywhere...they 're taken over...where's Lightning....
I'm re-posting pictures from another topic. You may have seen these before.
Alien Minion (He's in District Nine)"Not a Dart Gun"
I made these for the Eagle Scout Train Layout at Infoage Science Center and museum.

OMG!!! This is seriously the best thread of the year!!! BIG BRUDER??!?!?
I need a refresher, what tower is that.
I might want to try that.
It's the Lionel Dumbo pylon. Though any of them would work...
Gru has gathered the minions at the train station to wait for a freight train to arrive. The other minions are running the train.

Great thread guys! Best laughs and smiles I have had in months!

Hi Andrew. Where did you get most of your little guys? I got some of mine at Walmart.
LMAO
BA...NA...NA
Chris,
I got them from a local collectable and toy dealer called Comicchix who buys things from a larger distributor.
They were all from the DESPICABLE ME 2 figure lines produced over the past few years by people in China.
Look up DESPICABLE ME 2 FIGURES on Google and click on the images to find the best ones.
Andrew
took a while but everyone who has seen it likes it!
