This morning I dug up an MTH 89' autorack from under the workbench which somehow escaped the modern-era purge. It had the side sills by the trucks cut out, so it required some body work to patch the sides. I was surprised to find out that the DT&I had several 89' inclosed autoracks, so I found a prototype to paint the car. My model is a 'good enough' representation, using decals and paint I had on hand.

I use a mix of O and HO decals from Microscale, Champ and Herald King. I buy them online of pick them up at train shows. Because DT&I decals are not produced in high volume I scan most sheets in so I can duplicate them as needed. It is great for out of production decal sets, and I can fit 2 Microscale sets on an 8.5/11 sheet of decal paper
