So I just completed my upgrade to my K-line mikado to a ERR cruise commander M. I did all the required programming per the instructions and this this runs just as smooth as silk UNTIL, I plug in the tender. The train leaves command mode and goes into conventional and refuses to go into command and also refuses a reprogramming until I take away the tender. The instructions were followed and with no deviations. Anyone have a clue?

What did you do to fix the problem? Others might be helped by knowing the solution.
After looking over my work, I notice a wire on the female portion of the tether that had gone rouge. It was so small that I didn’t see it at first, but after putting on my readers, it was plain as day. I removed the wire, cleaned the circuit board and made good solder connections between the two. All is working well.
