Barry, First I thank you for your replying. I had actually googled this question and saw on this site someone has asked the very same question and there was no reply to it! So I thank you. Yes I figured that being there are two functions you would need two ports.

In the DCS or AUI books are there wiring instructions to do this? Do you remove or replace the wires on the buttons from the original duel button control switch? If possible I'd hate to have to cut the 4 wire flat cable completely from the switch.

What you have to do is understand how the manual control fior the track work s to trigger the uncoupling and unloading functions, and then use the AIU’s ACC port’s terminals to duplicate that effort.

You can either cut the wires or splice into them, and then connect to the AIU ports. If you do the latter, you can wire the switch to operate using both the manual controller and the AIU.
