i ran the trains today with my grandson...both Legacy and conventional (obviously not at the same time). We took a break for lunch and now five of the six switches don't respond to the controllers (I hard wired them pre-Legacy and then programmed them after going to Legacy and the controllers themselves light up), nor to the Cab-1, nor do the LEDs on the switches light. I've tried reprogramming, new batteries in the Cab but nothing works. At times the green light on the PowerMaster blinks which tells me there's an issue. Any ideas as to what is going on? The Legacy U33 runs just fine.

They're Baaaaaack! Don't ask me what happened. I tried everything in the manual to reset, reprogram, re..whatever and nothing worked. The controllers would light but not throw the switch. The lanterns on the switches did not light, but the locomotives, both Legacy and conventional, responded just fine. I checked that all the connections were secure, told the Big Guy upstairs that I'd change my evil ways, and rubbed my lucky rabbit's foot for good measure. The last thing I remember doing is inadvertently bumping either the PowerMaster or something and viola...everything works. Obviously I missed something and I'll likely go gaga figuring it out, but for now everything works as it should. Sorry to clog up the digital world with all the blather.

Retired Band Guy,

If you are using FasTrack Command Control Switches, the instructions for proper operation are in with each set of Switches for programming the CC switches.  Follow them and make sure the LED track side light blinks properly for programming the switch into your hand held remote control, either the TMCC or Legacy.  Lately there have been a few defective FTCC switches delivered, with bad sending units.  Not many of these, however they are around, return the switches if you get a pair of the defective FTCC Switches right away, to where you purchased them, they should replace them with your purchase receipt.  I would call the company 1st and make arrangement for the replacements.

I've had engines work on test track with Legacy which was not connected to the layout. So check the U terminal connection on the Powermaster, perhaps it was not secure.

A little confusing...but what I meant is that the U wire was not connected to the test track, but the engine still responded to the Legacy signal. This would vary with the Legacy or TMCC device.
