fixed pilot on Atlas F7, help

Recently bought an Atlas O F7 powered A, Milwaukee. It came with an enclosed fixed pilot and Atlas scale coupler attached to the said spare pilot. I have removed the shell and now it looks like I need to cut off the metal bracket that held the electrocoupler in place. Has anyone done this conversion? What do you suggest here to remove this and tell me if I am wrong that it does have to be cut off. I cannot see taking the truck apart. Thanks in advance for any tips. Bert

Watch video below by Eric's Trains, it shows how to attach the fixed pilot and will apply to the F7.

Thats why Atlas says its a one way conversion, once that cut has been made, you are now committed to a fixed pilot.

Done, note, I had to trim off the back corners of the Atlas box to prevent the wheels from climbing just a bit on tight curves, once that was done, runs great and take a look, just a world of difference!
