Dear Family and Friends, I know this is an early in the day update from me, but I NEED to get some GOOD news on Dave out there for a change. Best day we have had in a while!!!! Dave is off the eccmo ( lung ) machine. The ventilator through the trachea tube is maintaining the oxygenation of his blood. The next 2 hours are still very critical as they have to make sure the three major blood vessels where he was hooked up clot properly and he does not start to hemorrhage. He is off the heparin, so they don't expect any problems. Other stuff still going on. Doc says he'll probably be in the hospital for another month, but this is a huge step in the right direction! smile emoticon Thank the Lord and everyone who has been praying and sending good wishes!!
Received word that Dave Robinson aka MiKatt1 is in the ICU at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dave had an Aorta replacement, Ventricle Valve repair, and a double bypass. Complications set in and he contracted Pneumonia and he is heavily sedated on the equivalent of an Iron Lung. I met Dave on the old AOL Lionel board, and finally a face to face at York. Dave was a fixture at York, and at the old AOL Banquets. He had suffered a heart attack just before York around 2003, but he still attended. A great guy, Avid hobbyist, a loving Husband and father, he needs all our prayers and support to fight this fight.
