Does GGD do 2 rail to 3 rail conversions? I spotted a rare car on eBay that would make a great addition to my Pacific Surfliner, but it's unfortunately 2 rail. Checking GGD's site wasn't of much help.
Any help is much appreciated.

Call them. I got a pair of passenger car trucks from them a while back, they may or may not have what you're looking for.

Will do. I'm just concerned they won't have the parts readily available as the car is an older run (2008 I think). I guess what you're also saying is that I have to perform the conversion myself. Is this true? I just would prefer not to because I've heard GGD aluminum/brass cars are kind of a pain to work on.
The wheels are interchangeable. You just need to fab up something for pickup rollers and rewire it.
Buy some wheels from NWSL
I looked into this about a year ago. In calling GGD/Sunset, they do NOT have any extra trucks/parts to sell.

Think of the conversion effort as a challenge and an opportunity for skill-building!
A conversion of a 3rd Rail car should be about as easy as they come. New wheels and new bushings. The trucks are all the same between the 2 rail and the 3 rsil models
Appreciate the advice guys. I guess I'll just have to find time to complete the project and figure out how to install a 3 rail coupler. I haven't bothered to install kadees on all of my equipment since I only have O-72s.
Petersen Supply in Portland & Eastside Trains in Seattle have done conversions for me, both 3rd Rail & Atlas and do excellent work at reasonable prices
Going from 2 to 3 rail is a lot more simple than going from 3 to 2 rail.
I just finished one. It’s not rocket science, you can do it with mostly available parts. I’ll post a DIY when I get a chance.
Anybody to switch 2 rail for 3 rail, please contact me. (see profile) I have a number of GGD heavyweights I'd like to convert to 2 rail.
Also need GGD 2 rail trucks for the streamline passenger cars. Have at least one or two sets of trucks to exchange.

They told me they do not stock extra trucks. I have been swapping with 2railers so far. There is an abundance of lower priced 2 rail GGD equipment out there. Atlas as well. Not sure why?
I’ve got a set of GGD 1937 super chief cars that got cut up that have the trucks on em and all the interiors. I suppose s guy could make new door frames for em and have s nice 8 car train. It’s a whole bunch of 2 rail trucks n parts at least. If anybody’s interested, shoot me an email
What I have found on several GGD car's, both heavyweight and Lightweight car's, some of the older releases are designed differently, I'm still experimenting with conversions, because I have both 2 and 3 rail car's, that i am converting
Is your car streamlined or heritage series? I have several 3 rail cars that I want to convert to 2 rail. I have done it before so perhaps we could trade trucks.
