GGD Modern Heavyweights question

I recently ordered a 4 car passenger set of the GGD NYC modern heavyweights.  

What kind of consist would work with these cars?  I assume this 4-car set does not come with an observation car.  Would there be an observation car available that would work well with this set?

Didn't GGD offer a correct heavyweight open-end platform observation in NYC for that same set?

Ben,  If you can't find a GGD observation car there are American Standard kits for cars which may be appropriate.  John in Lansing, ILL

I am not sure.  If they did can anyone point to a dealer who has them?  I would be in the market.

I don't think so. The heavyweights are beginning production NOW. So if the reservations are not closed yet, you might want to order one. I think you are confusing the Heavyweight with the Harriman sets which DID have an observation[Business car]- but I don't see NYC as a choice for those sets:

I don't know for sure about a GGD observation for NYC, but I remember purchasing quite a number of GGD heavyweight passenger cars for CB&Q (all 21"), and one order was a pair consisting of an open platform observation and a dinner. All together I wound up with about 12 GGD "Burlington" heavyweight passenger cars, and added a Tomar drumhead on the rear of the observation car for the Exposition Flyer.

Thus, I know for sure that GGD did offer the 21 inch open platform car in a number of different railroad schemes.
