When my youngest son was 2, among the gifts he received was a book titled Freight Train. We read it to him so many times that he new the story. So well that my mom saw him reciting the words as he turned the pages and thought he was actually reading the words on the page. Fast forward to my grandson getting a new version of this book and doing a similar performance! For his 2nd birthday, I put together the same freight consist for him. Now when he comes over, his first words are “BaPa Trains!” As he leads me to the stairs to the train room.

Thought this book and put together train set might be a good idea for a young person’s gift.IMG_1193IMG_1194IMG_1192IMG_1191IMG_1190

the attached pictures are of my grandson reading, the original book, and his train on the layout. By the way it has its own siding for when he wants to see his train run.   ….going, going, gone.
