Yeah, can't wait either. I think the 2-8-0 consolidations have also come in.

I am hoping Lionel put the correct tender with the Southern 2-8-0.

I ordered the Southern, so I hope so. But, knowing how things go, I'm not getting my hopes up. I really don't care as long as it's a fun engine to run.

Excellent news!
I've been impatiently waiting since announced! Can't wait to see the videos.
Thanks for the update!
Does anyone know if they will have the correct tapered connecting rods this time? The first batch of Legacy models were really good, but I've seen the 844 in person, and the Lionel would be even better with the correct driving rod pattern.
That one is from 2008, Gary. The new ones item numbers are in the 80000 series.
I'm also looking forward to seeing how the new FEF-3's turn out, especially the 8444 version.
They are:
I have extras for sure of 6-82806
The 2-8-0 extras I have coming are:
Ours arrive on Monday.
If anyone gets the SP version of the 2-8-0 can someone post a video? Thinking about buying one. Thanks
I pre-ordered the 838 from Steve www.mrmuffinstrains.com
She should be in Monday!! Can't wait!

Don't think there where any external tooling changes made. Just updated electronics, whistle steam, and the track sensor.
Awesome they have arrived, not awesome I gotta pay for my FEF #8444...
I have the original 844 Legacy version Lionel did a few years ago, interesting to see the differences besides the whistle steam and sensor.

I would of bought one of these but the daylight and allegheny won.
Eric, I will hopefully be picking my FEF from Charlie early in the week. I had the first run Legacy 844 with modular boards and just know this will be a great locomotive. I am looking forward to you doing a review.
Jim, the first one was a good locomotive. I am a huge fan of the RCMC board system and whistle steam. I have two yellow aux tenders to go with my locomotive.

Hoping to see the review within a few months, most of the stuff I buy comes from others having one, running it and demonstrating sounds and the reviews, you doing that, it causes a hole in my pocket.
The model 844 will be hitting the rails before the REAL one. Interesting!

I got the SP version, had to for the tender. But sadly I won't be able to do anything with it until late July. But if someone hasn't posted a video by then, I'll do it.
My FEF #8444 is at Legacy Station and Brian is shipping it out tomorrow. Looks like a Monday arrival for me!
I'd love to see this new FEF in action.
