My Lindbergh Atlantic engine stopped smoking from the stack while running it at the club (Black Diamond Society of Model Engineers, Bethlehem Pa) a few weeks ago. This was going to be the third trip to Ohio for this engine but I do really like the engine so off it went on April 16th. By the way the whistle was still smoking just no smoke from the stack.

Lionel received the engine on April 22nd (Easter weekend slowed down UPS). On Friday 4/25 UPS left me a note saying they attempted delivery but needed a signature so they would try again on Monday April 28th. At 7 PM UPS delivered the Atlantic. Test ran it at the club and the smoke from the stack and whistle all work the way it should. Based on the attempted delivery on Friday they must of fixed and shipped within one day. Good job Lionel Repair.

In the past I had a TMCC type of diesel that was sent to Lionel for repair(s), when Lionel was still in Michigan.

At, which time I get a call from one of their service Technicians, who asked me how the locomotive was performing.

He was polite and considerate, to and with me.

I told him what was going on and he told me what the problems were and that he will look into those problems and give an overall performance check of the diesel.

I must say, I did NOT expect a call from a service Tech., over a $400.00 locomotive, but that is Lionel's assurance of service and customer satisfaction, that they provided, are providing and hopefully will be provide.

bigdodgetrain,

    Here is what they did:

          Smoke Resister 8 ohm

          smoke fan control pcb/vision steam

Replaced the smoke control board and heating element. Test ran with no problems.

Like I said the turn around time was fantastic.
