Spotted an Oompa Loompa preparing for Trick-Or-Treaters!  The Gobblin' Gulch theme this year is Wonka Chocolate Factory delivering candy to the visitors.  (Starting in 2020 we set up a loop each year with a different theme, which dumps candy from log dump cars.  The kids and adults love it!)

I hope he doesn't swing that hammer too hard!

Hello,

The preceding two videos are each about one half my Halloween theme park layout. Layout size is approximately 12'X14'. Primitive by any standard the video and some aspects of the temporary layout are my first ever attempt at a real layout.  It took me 45 days to set up mainly due to delays in material arrivals.

The layout premise is a small town such as New Hope PA, with a Halloween Theme park destination.

After Halloween we switch over to Christmas with a whole new replacement portion to reflect the North Pole.

@Former Member - I love the burlap ground cover and all the fun pieces!  I didn't know there were so many Halloween carnival items near O scale!

@John E K - cool pumpkin tunnels!

Glad you like it.  I was looking for the appearance of trampled fall grass/sawdust/dirt that you usually encounter in a carnival lot.  The burlap was cheap and readily available locally at Joann's Fabrics.

Since this is a temporary seasonal layout everything had to be removable and easy to work with.

In addition to the actual rides, once I decided on a theme park rather than so called real ghoulish ghouls and monsters, all the Lemax SpookyTown buildings became eligible to be in a theme park/carnival as rides, gift shops, and 'fun houses'.  All the ghost, goblins ,ad monsters were merely park/carnival employees in costume and character.

For the 'case work' I used Bora Centipede Work benches and tops for ease of setup, light weight, and easy compact storage versus dimensional lumber and sheeting of plywood and or Homasote.

Every aspect of the layout can be improved, however as a first effort I am reasonably satisfied with the results.  Definitely not prototypical!

I will be a bit sorry to pack all the Halloween stuff away to make way for the North Pole.
