We can get an accurate FL9 today from Sunset, but a few years ago, Lionel gave us their alternative chooch....the Conventional Classic McGinnis EMD "FL3" archive set. Too bad this super looking A+A combo didn't go into regular production instead of the Budd car inspired 2242 A+B of 1958 . Anyway, I want to put a Hancock air whistle onboard in place of the Lionel horn unit. Any ideas...suggestions?? Thanks !

The K line EP5 came with Nathan Chimes. You could hunt down one of those parts
FWIW, MTH has the chip for the EP5 with an acceptable Hancock whistle aboard. Of course, it's an electric sound set, so you'd have to shut off the "electric" part of the sound to get the desired effect. Think I'll go with either a Diesel sound here, or just the Hancock by itself.
I'm hoping for a Legacy New Haven McGinnis EMD FL3 someday soon but from the looks of things it might be a long wait.
I have the Conventional Classics set. It's sweet and I could convert it to command but without smoke...

This set is a prime candidate for the PWC F3 cab interior parts, as they fit right in. Could then add crew.....and a good excuse to get some NH passenger cab chatter and PSA ! Already have my Williams Passenger cars for the Merchants LTD. !
