Has anyone bought MTH Madison cars and painted them in the polar express paint scheme?

i just purchased an MTH remote and transformer and will order a new Berkshire in the next week or so.. And I was going to use it to pull my polar express cars. But now that I've seen the MTH Madison cars I like the detail much better. They seem similar to the legacy cars, at a fraction of the cost. I'm a carpenter by trade so I think I could definitely paint these and modify what needs to be done.

but I just wanted to see if anyone has tried this?
