HELP - How do you install the rubber ends on MTH Bombardier Passenger Cars

I have a set of these (and the K line versions) that I just got back from having painted and I need to re-install the rubber around the doors on each end, and while I'm sure this should be easy I'm not finding it to be. Is there some kind of trick to these? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
