I have 15 O22 turn outs on the layout I’m building, and need to use a 612-3011 in my yard.  My problem:  the pin on the center rail is pushed in all the way.
I took the turn-out apart in an attempt loosen the track and remove the pin. I fear that I’m about to break the plastic

Can I force the pin in further and add another, or

should I just add power drops on either side turn- out,

Use a screwdriver to spread the taps apart.  Use a smaller screwdriver at an angle against the pin and try to work it out.  If you have a small enough screwdriver, hold it with the blade 90 degrees across the pin so it doesn’t slip off to the side.  Once you get it out, hold the pin at the desired length and tighten the rail around it.  Press the tabs back down and tighten the pin again.
