Not sure about the hobby shops but if you are stuck for something to do over the weekend, consider taking the Amtrak Cascades into Portland. You can check out the Oregon Rail Heritage Center and see the SP4449, The SP&S 700, and a couple others up close, as close as you will ever get to them. A few shops in Seattle so just hop off the train and visit Seattle at the same time. Enjoy your time in the Great Northwest!

There are a number of hobby shops in the metro Vancouver area, but they mostly have the smaller scales(HO, N...) equipment in stock. Central Hobbies in Vancouver(2825 Grandview Hwy  (604) 431-0771). I've seen some O gauge equipment there before, but not much. A number of the local train shops sell O gauge equipment, but they have to order it in for you. No servicing is done in this area that I know of.

Eastside Trains, a few hours drive from Vancouver... in Kirkland Washington, is the biggest and closest full service O Gauge retailer(Steve Suskin, a good guy, is the owner). I deal with a Canadian outfit, back east.
