While I enjoy all types of trains and started out with a RTR Set from Lionel. I became fascinated with the subway sets by MTH.

Hi FEC. I have 15 subway sets with add-ons for each.  These represent all that I fondly remember riding as well as those that I enjoyed seeing at the Transit museum. Although subways are the cornerstone of my collection, I also dabble in LIRR and military rail items.    In fact, I've been having a blast building tanks, trucks and other loads for repainted military flat cars. I just need to build that second layout for a military/Long island rural themed layout in one of my empty nest kid's rooms and I'm all set, LOL!.

Nice! I'm like you I'm also heavy in to the military loads. Its hard to find 1/43 US models WW2 era. I think 1/35 is too big.

I've been stocking up on Tamiya, Hobby boss and now Atlantis for my 1/48 WW2/Korea era loads. I just bought a few Howitzer guns and an army fuel truck from Atlantis. All are in 1/48 and will make great loads. Check them out. I've also purchased a few of the Hobbyboss and Atlantis 1:48 Military kits at Hobby Lobby on Pines Blvd.

You can also order direct from Atlantis for decent prices -

Paint  these olive drab and stick on some army stickers and you’re good to go -

Not counting the R40 2-Car Add-on, I have three full R21 4-car subway sets, 2 in HO, and now a Redbird in O that I just purchased yesterday at Ready to Roll Trains here in Miami.

It's positioned right next to me at my desk at home along with my other interests where I've working remotely for the past year plus.

I had one of these in the past and sold it - big mistake.  I jumped at the opportunity when I saw one come up.

P.S. - Yes #Strap Hanger and #bluelinec4, whom I've been conversing with offline on another topic, with this purchase of the Redbird it looks like I've changed my mind   in a big way

Nice pickup, Kevin! The R-21s were my first MTH subway purchase because they reminded me of the R-33 Redbirds I’d been riding into Manhattan from Queens back in the late 80s/early 90s. I was going to change all the signage to #7 line, but I’m glad I didn’t (particularly since mth eventually came out with a #7 redbird).

So now you’re back on the Ogauge wagon? You better start building quick before you change your mind once again, LOL!

I have 2 complete sets of the MTH #6200 CTA 4-Car & 2-Car Subway Sets....with the Green Roofs ..plus a set of the #6200 CTA with the very rare Cream Roof Set. When I was a kid when I lived on the South Side of Chicago, I use to ride the Douglas Park Line from one end of the line to the other. That was fun...back than.
