Construction started late in 2008 and trains were running by 2009. After 6 years, about 25 percent of my layout is still pink. A second level featuring a mimic of the Big Apple in the late 1940s is yet to be built.

One significant oversight I made when planning my layout is the lack of yards and not enough sidings. So two extensions will be added maybe this year or next.

And god bless you also Pappy.NickOriginally Posted by Happy Pappy:

I also have a newer Std & O-Gauge layout that I started in 1989/90. My 20' X 30' trainroom is my domain filled with memories.

My layouts are nothing like Marty's masterpiece.

Mine is 17 years old. I haven't really done anything major. Changed a couple buildings here and there but basically the same. I recently did major scenery work. Re-grassed the entire layout, all new shrubs, all new tress (all 250 of them). I'm working on adding an operating inclined plane that goes up and down my mountain. After that be enjoying my MTH premier Allegheny.
