I made my first pre-order from Lionel this year and I was wondering how do you find out if a particular item will eventually be made? I ordered the C&A John Bull set, which from this forum, looks like it will definitely be made. I also ordered the PRR John Bull set, which does not seem as popular.
Also, does Lionel post a projected date of delivery for their items?
I'm going to check Lionel.com to see if I can figure it out.

AFAIK, until Lionel announces that the will or will not be made, there's no way you're going to be able to determine it. I'm sure they're not going to share the order numbers with any of us.
Agree with GRJ. The first time you're probably going to see anything in black and white so to speak is when it shows on the Lionel Shipping Schedule. And that's always a crap shoot. Occasionally, someone from Lionel may chime in here with some sort of status update but that's pretty rare.

If you watch "Workbench Wednesdays with Ryan" on either YouTube or Facebook, he does give some product updates when asked in the comments section. I think this past week he mentioned some things being cancelled due to lack of orders. Might be worth a try there.
