Information on the MTH 2015 Tinplate Catalog no release date.

After the cancelation of the subway sets I have lost hope.

Practically speaking... I'm not sure I can even look at another new catalog right now.  Between $$$ already spent this year, PLUS items that are due to arrive in June and Nov/Dec 2015... I'm DONE for this year... and perhaps even a portion of next year. 

At the last minute (literally), I did just spring for MTH's uncatalog'd Chessie 400E due to Pat's tempting 16% off sale last month!!!  That was an unplanned expenditure, but the price was just too gosh-darn good for something like that. 

So quite honestly, the iron door has slammed down shut between me and my wallet -- at least for new toy train purchases in 2015.  I don't even want to SEE another forum sponsor "sale" right now.  The well is now officially dry.    We all have our limits.

So if MTH publishes their 2015 Tinplate catalog around October York, that will be more than fine for me.

Publish in fall of 2015, deliver in fall of 201?    Doesn't look good.  if they can't even make a catalog,  how committed are they to actually making trains?

I wonder how the sales were for tinplate trains out of the 2014 catalog? If MTH has a warehouse full of tinplate trains, that could be a reason for the delay.

Wonder how many catalogues they will have.

The regular catalogue states: LCT for Lionel trains, Tinplate Traditions for non-Lionel licensed products, Marklin for Marklin products per agreement with Marklin trademark owners.

Almost all of the last catalogue has shipped except the Monorail and the cancelled items.

Bob, don't be too rough on MTH.  The Standard Gauge stuff I've ordered recently has been delivered in reasonable time --for me anyway.  The last engine I pre-ordered was the MTHRRC special 400E which had an original ETA of Jan 2015 but arrived in late March 2015.  And shortly thereafter, MTH delivered the "surprise" Chessie 400E that I just purchased from Pat's Trains with the 16% discount sale!!!    That product didn't even have a brochure or special pre-announcement -- just showed up in Maryland one day.  We don't see unannounced products from importers hitting the street like that anymore these days, so I'm glad to see MTH doing it once in awhile.  Wasn't too long ago when that happened quite frequently.

But I also understand lots of folks are disappointed with wait on the monorail and the cancellation of the subway cars.

I believe the delay is simple....well easy for me to say. I think the delay is due to the negotiations between Lionel and MTH as they did great job with it before. Lionel is probably wanting more on the releases. I will have no problem if MTH wants to go back to Tinplate Traditions.

The latest news as I have it:

The 2015 Lionel Corp. Tinplate catalog has been scheduled to be released next month.  No, there isn't any negotiations so that is not the reason for the delay.

There will be at least one newly tooled item(s) in the catalog.  Something that hasn't been offered before.

The monorails are nearly sold out at MTH, and should be on the water now.

No other Tinplate Traditions items unless they are announced special later this year.

I would be sort of forced to get a 600 and a couple of cars to go with it.  Crackle Black would be really nice,I think.

Also,I could not pass up that green 400E with black trim and matching State cars if offered.

I would be in real trouble if these were  in this catalog.

Norm: What is that 11-1027. It says State green and the trim would match the windows of State cars. Three engines for Green State cars. 381E and super 381E.

Is it also  used as the green comet with green Blue Comet cars.

The same engine I requested a photo of a few days ago on the forum. No luck yet! Also, Would love to see the green comet cars as well.

I'm fixed on a repo of Dr. Folb's set.  I can't get it out of my mind.  I used to play a good bit of tennis back in those days at those local clay courts and visit the Dinkler on occasion.  That original set resided just a few doors away.  But,going back 35-40 years I would not have had the $$$$ to make the buy,even if it were available for sale.

Yup, I would definitely be in for a set of green state cars like Doctor Folb's set.  To me this variation makes all other green state cars common.

Ives O Gauge 1122 would knock my socks off, especially with matching passenger cars.

MTH now has the Marklin name. I want that Zepplin with the propellor in STD gauge.

I bet we'll see a Hudson.

As much as I would like to see one too, we both will be disappointed.

Newly tooled items will be non-powered.

Any future MTH/Marklin tinplate items depend on the European market.  While the German version of the station did well (for us too!), I think you will see more along those lines if anything at all.
