Hi All,

I have a Lionel Legacy Ten Wheeler 6-11202 from the 2010 Volume 1 catalog that will only smoke when you manually ding the bell from the legacy remote. I've owned the loco since new and always figured I had a burnt out smoke unit so I left it off. Recently I turned the switch on and realized it would start to smoke when I would hit the bell button but would fade away after a few seconds unless I started to hit the bell slider again. I've tried resetting it as well as looking under the shell for anything out of the ordinary and can't find anything. Has anyone had this problem before that might be able to guide me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Mat

Hello everyone,

I worked on this engine today, and it was the voltage regulator that was bad. Upon start up the

the resistor would get hot and then cool down after a few minutes, it would intermittently heat up a bit and then cool down again. So installed a new regulator, new resistor, and batting. She's now smoking out my workshop. See video below

Thanks

Alex
