Visited a multi-level three rail layout done in Gargraves Stainless track, over 120' of it.

What amazed, and puzzled me, was watching him run four trains on the two main lines, two of them full illuminated passenger trains, two freights, with an Atlas ABA f unit set, a Lionel PA ABA set, a Lionel AC-12, and one Lionel Geep.

With the entire setup powered by ONE Z4000!!  Which also, at the same time, powered all the illuminated buildings and multiple switch motors, while only showing a 3.5 amp draw on one throttle, and about 4.8 on the other!!!

How on earth could that be??

When I try to run two trains, one illuminated passenger set and a long freight, if I put another locomotive on the front to double-head, the draw exceeds 10amps .. and I'm powering just the track with TWO Z4000!

Really a puzzle.  There were not any hidden transformers or the like; it was all powered by one Z4000.
