I have been looking for the best method to pave the streets of my town and I came up with a solution I liked. There may be better ways, but after a couple of years of thinking about this, then getting up the nerve to do it, I think it turned out pretty good.
I wanted to use leveling cement like they use on flooring, but at $50 a bag, I passed on that idea. So I had tile mortar from an old bathroom project, and decided to make a soupy mix from that and add black color to darken it.

Really well done. To add to the effect, you might consider some very fine chalk powders applied with a super soft make-up brush to add some grime and oil streaks down the middle of the lanes. Also, some concrete cracks added with a very fine point felt tip pen. Overall, your streets look great!
