You never stop learning in this hobby.......Just when you thought you knew all the rules..... you are humbled by new knowledge.....and I've been doing this since 58 except for the years between 70-80......

Semi scale Alcos. They are O27/starter set locos....right? I always thought so.....Well, I learned something today that I didn't realize. It never occurred to me that they could be in a high end set with Super O track.

This book reprints all the Sears catalog train pages from 1950 to 69.  This page is from 1960. Low and behold, a Santa Fe Alco set with 3 operating cars, Super O track and the highly desirable flat with an Allis Chalmers dozer. imageimage

A semi scale Alco set with Super O track...........Wow!

I need to go through John Schmid's Promotional Set book and see if it happened in other instances......That's what I love about this hobby......always something out there to discover!

Next question.......Has anyone ever seen this set in person?

Peter
