Terry, I didn't find the Alaska version but it appears the GP38s came out around 2005. They would have modular electronics. Some even had cruise. Check to see if your number ends with CC or S. If CC it has cruise and has a different feature code. If it were a steam engine the feature code would be 78 but I don't have info on a cruise diesel. Maybe someone else will chime in here.

As for 200, I thought you could only do 01 thru 99.  Both locomotive switches need to be on PROG, and that 7 is just an example, not the number you are to use.  Be sure to use the numbers that you have programed your locomotives.

The Lionel HHP-8 uses the same board as the ERR MiniCommander 2 with different firmware, it's not a Legacy locomotive.  So, you were really just using two TMCC locomotives.

GGG was correct, I took the OP's question to be can a K-Line be MUed, not can it be MUed to a Legacy.  And I do know my son's HHP-8 is not Legacy.  In fact it doesn't even have sounds which he wishes it did.

It was from the set, and they have a bell and horn (SignalSounds), but no prime mover sounds.  I guess enough people complained that Lionel did later release as stand alone a HHP-8 with the full RailSounds package.  I've thought about hunting that one down for myself, but then my son would complain because mine had sound and his didn't.
