The first 5 or 6 cars were Lionel Woodside Reefers. Then they switched to Weaver. The Lionel cars were white bodies, all decorated the same except for the year and graphics/roof color. All in all, rather blah cars. However, the first car is now scarce as hens teeth. Good luck in finding one! The Weaver cars have much better graphics, in my opinion. Knoebles did have Lionel make one car just recently. The graphics are much better on it. There is also a 4-4-0 or 4-4-2 steam engine and red caboose.

I wonder what Lionel's minimum order quantity is for that car?  Have the previous cars sold well?

I have often wondered that. You can buy almost every car made in the Christmas store.  I like the idea a lot.

Lionel's newest catalog says something about minimums as low as 100 cars.   You can still buy almost every car Knoebels had made due to the prices they ask (especially those one-color deco cars).  I once told the otherwise uninitiated ladies in the gift shop that I collect Lionel & O gauge trains & that Knoebels prices it's cars exorbitantly compared to similar items in the market.  I said the park would sell MANY more if it brought its prices into line.   (I am sure they just went about their business of selling ornaments 30 seconds later.)  One of the last cars Weaver did for them had beautiful multi-color graphics (much nicer than those one-color Lionel cars) but I passed on it due to price.

I bought all of the Weaver car's. Weaver only required 100 cars to be made, Lionel was 1000. That is why they went to Weaver, maybe Lionel dropped the 1000 number because I got my postcard from Knoebels last summer when they asked to take a online survey. I then got a email stating no car would be made in 2018 because they could not get the "number" of cars they  wanted to be made. The Weaver car's are way better then Lionel's, but that's my two cents.
