thought I would try this, but the Y6B front wheels did not turn at all!! the rear drivers moved with the 4-8-4 going. But the Y6B was not moving. Is there something you can do to operate it? or can you only lash the y6B with a y6B?

Test engine separately to ensure it works. This is not a specific lashup issue, unless the Y6B added incorrectly. G

I agree that it's not a DCS lashup issue, regardless of whether or not if the Y6b added to the lashup correctly.

Sounds like you have a much more serious issue than just a "lash-up", if only half of the drivers on the Y6b are moving (by the way, the Y6b is a 2-8-8-2).

Does the Y6b operate OK by itself? Or maybe in conventional?
