I’ve noticed a lot of stores are saying that the newest run of Legacy 2-8-8-2’s are now in stock! Has anyone gotten their’s yet? I’m personally interested in the Rio Grande version!

I noticed this earlier today as well! Wishing i could buy both N&W 2020 (early Y3 with airpumps on the smokebox) and N&W 2050 (later Y3 or maybe a Y6? not sure), but the wallet is insisting I can only buy one so I'll think over which one I would rather have, but would love to see video of them in action!
I’d like to see some videos of them too since I’m about a month away from getting one! Dave from Lionel on a Facebook livestream in January showed a production sample with the N&W sounds in it, but he mentioned the western road names and I think even the B&O version have different whistles that the N&W Y3’s have. Really would like to hear those sounds!
Can't wait to see the N&W 2050. I also hope they have the correct graphite smokebox instead of the light grey like on the new 4-6-0s. Then again, I am excited to hear the sounds of each of them.
FOUR cross-compound air compressors????
Never saw a locomotive with more than two...

Graphite smokebox or Gray? Flip a coin. Are you feeling lucky?

It's on multiple models including N&W #2020. I'm assuming it's a "consequence" of mass-production.

It's true! What's also true is the DM&IR Yellowstones have three injector pumps on the smokebox.

The one in the middle is the Elesco feedwater heater's water pump, not a cross compound air compressor like the other two.

I like the details you guys can highlight.
Cool..
Looks like Mr. Muffins is uploading photos of these for his site.

I also think that DGLE is a bit too green. This is evident on the recent batch of B6s as well
Im glad I kept my "blowout" TMCC version. I'll Have Alex install the supachuffa II in it.

Well, it's not green like the catalog art, but the boiler, ugh. What is going on? Hopefully the sounds are right.
That smokebox is quite a bit different from the catalog art!!! I hope the N&W engines are correct... at least I didn't preorder!

If not, there's always Neolube to fix the problem.

True, I saw that solution from the new Ten-Wheeler thread but I'd prefer it correct straight from the factory. Everyone does, of course, but I can't say with certainty that it would like nice and clean when I finished adding the Neolube

The pilot on the engine looks like PRR green; I think the lighting and reflection is causing the main engine body to look different.

Yeah, it's just the light. I've watched a bunch of his videos on FB and YouTube and you will see the glare change the color contrast of the engines and cars as they move along.
It looks like more 2-8-8-2's have arrived at Mr Muffins, including N&W #2020. It too has the dreaded silver smoke box. I will be honest, the silver smoke box looks nice as it reminds me of the 4-8-2 Water Buffalo (N&W K3) that I have, but I am pickier about scale details for my N&W model roster and think I might pass this round.
Does anyone know if the early N&W 2-8-8-2's had silver smoke boxes? I might be convinced to buy then.

There is a 6-11405 Y3 on eBay that shows a darker boiler. So, once again the wrong paint guy is on duty whereas the older versions the right guy was on duty.
