I am posting a few photos of the progress i have made so far,but i also would like to know how many members put things on their layouts where you would never see them on a real railroad, look at the first photo the automatic gateman on the edge of the layout, next is a crossing signal but there is no crossing,& finally ,crossing gates between 2 tracks with no room to go anywhere once they get through the crossing. For me it makes no difference where these things go,they all work & when anyone sees them all they say is look the man came out of the gate house,or look at the gates going up & down, these things just give some visual interest to the layout,& besides it has been said many times on this forum,it's your railroad do what ever makes you happy,& thats what i do i enjoy it so thats all that matters to me. I would like to hear your opinion on this.

Great progress Gerald! Placement of accessories pretty much go where they fit and will be most enjoyed on our displays. We don't put too much effort into prototypical operations rather entertainment value is of more importance. Because of this we find way too many ways to be entertained by spritzer water bottles and usually do keep them out of sight and reach of guests.

Gerald,

Very nice Fastrack layout, painting the wooden trestle uprights white is kind of cool, I like it, especially with the double RR bridges on the 2nd level.   Gerald your old Lionel Train Billboard is just fantastic, have been looking for one in perfect shape for many years, to do exactly what you have done with yours, way cool stuff sir.  You now have one of the nicest FasTrack Layouts I have seen in years.  Now find a place to put the Bear Christmas Tree and you have it all.  The kids love all this kind of stuff!

Matthew  B, You are right about they go wherever there is room,i layed out the tracks first then wherever room i had left ,thats where i had to put things, in my former layout some things had to be made removeable, so i could get up on the layout to do cleaning or make any repairs, but with this layout i can reach everything without having to remove any scenery.

PCRR/ DAVE,Thanks for the complements, there is still a lot of work to be done,i am in no hurry & i enjoy doing the work,it does take a lot of time because i am trying to squeeze in everything i had in the old layout into this one ,but i will get there eventualy.

Dieseler, Thats my granddaughter ,she is 7 now & she does help with the layout i put her underneath to run wires, plus she can strip the ends by herself if i need that done.

Gerald,

Take the Concept from YOUR Mind and place it on the Rails.

Simple as apple pie.

I have about 60% of my layout done (about one year so far) and I have never had as much pleasure creating everything I have included in my layout to date. One of my favorite scenes is in the tunnel. Nobody ever sets up a scene in the tunnel because nobody looks in there until they see the flickering of the fire barrel and peek inside.

I have been told it is like a ride at Disney going thru my tunnel.

Take a look at my layout before much of the scenery, grass etc., was completed.

Go to youtube and type in My Lazy L

Keep up the good work and BTW...I love that old Lionel Picture also on the wall.

Have fun and keep the wheels down.
