I believe I've been on maybe 4 G scale sites now. There was a post about lack of participation here. On 2 of the sites that I used to frequent, I started posts that said "Let's see your engines!". There were overwhelming numbers of posts and all types of engines. So I figure let's do it again. Maybe we'll divide it up on this forum to get more action spread out over time.

I think MTH has taken some shots from various posters over the years on their G scale releases. As many of you know, I like them. I just wish there were more to choose from. I prefer modern stuff but it's so limited that I had to look elsewhere. I even bought engines that I have no interest in just to have better variety.

Now the MTH first gen F series diesels I feel are good enough for my RR. Someone posted that the nose curves aren't right. I feel they are good enough.

I'll be back with more models. Let's see yours!

Oh come on. Where's all the others? LGB, USA, whatever you have.

Here's the MTH PA model. I bought these well used. Other than some signs of rough handling, they still run great!

I straightened the side grills later on, only to dent them again myself. These are heavy and good pullers. You should lift from the bottoms!

I have a SF version too. I'll have to get a photo.

Joe, MTH did a better job of detailing the G scale Alco PAs than they did on their O scale models, i.e., no grab irons by the nose door.

I like them. Here's a MTH slave SF paint version. They are great pullers with all axles powered. Seems to be the right combo of weight and gearing.

How about VO1000s?

These have finer scale wheels and impressed me. Again I prefer modern. I bought these to make into modern switchers. I never touched them as they look so good to me as is.

SORRY, I have ZERO diesels, only LGB Austrian, German and Swiss steam and electrics.  ☺

I made a separate post for steam! Join in there.

I don't make the rules here. Some people don't like diesels. Some prefer electrics, etc. Just trying to get things rolling here.

OK heres some of my early diesels. I am into the Aristo and USA diesels. I bought my e-8's from St Aubin before the owner Pat passed. He was an awesome guy. Paid 239.00 for Aristo diesels..... Have a bunch of Aristo sd-45 and dash 9's.   All 239.00...…. Sonny from Jackies trains was another awesome person. Bought Aristo diesels from him for around 180.00. .AHHHHH the good old days. Try buying Aristo diesels nowadays. Prices are out of sight. I don't have an outdoor layout so all the colors on these diesels are vibrant like the day I bought them.  MTH diesels are nice with proto2,3 but just too small to go with my other stuff. Threw in a MTH proto 2 challenger with rare elephant ears just for the heck of it. Pardon the messy train room. Always moving things around.

ENGINEER-JOE: Appreciate your threads! Will have to take some photos of my LGB 2085D 0-6-6-0 German mallet and my PIKO BR 24 2-6-0 and post on your steam thread!  ☺

Yes those Aristo's are like gold now. I never bought the E series and I always wanted them. They look beautiful.

I had so many other engines and stopped buying. Of course I want the ones I didn't get! We just don't run the covered wagons as much here. Our grandson has his favorites and influences my direction. I guess I like UP steam the best? (his favorite)
