Andy very nice collection, thanks for sharing with us.
AFTX,
I wish I had the wall space to display my Freedom Train and American Freedom Train; I hate that they sit in storage.
I noticed you have a model of AFT #610. Who made it and where did you get it? Thanks. Ron
Happy 4th everyone!
Hi Ron -- Here's a shot of my O scale brass Max Gray 2-10-4 (circa 1960/63) after seven years of trying to complete its transformation to American Freedom Train #610. It was an eBay find. The white on the tender is paint, stripes are decals. Driver tires and loco stripes are sticker material like you might find on a wrapped automobile. Still need to figure out how to convert it to 3-rail. If those K-line Berks only had another driver...
Here's the business car used to promote the idea of an American Freedom Train -- High Iron Company 200 "Brothers Two" as AFT Splendid Spirit, 1972-1975 or so. It was an undecorated/green K-line obs car.

I am bring up the rear with the BN 1976 caboose. This was a prototypical paint scheme that a BN employee came up with.
Kris Model Trains American Revolution Bicentennial boxcar.
4th of July at the movies. Amtrak locomotives fly the O-Gauge Old Glory, while on the lower level the TCA Bicentennial train draws a pair of U-boats.
I have this packed away someplace so I grabbed the pic from the web page.
Popsrr,
Would you consider renaming the tittle of your thread to Weekend Photo Fun-Independence Week....I am enjoying the photos thus far and would hate to see it drop off the front page or have another photo thread started to compete against it.

Scott thats a great idea!!! I have just changed the title of this thread. Thanks for making the suggestion. Bill

What a wonderful engine and passenger car. You engine reminds me of how much hard work these old wonderful machines have done in helping to build this country and it ALSO REMINDES ME OF THE GREAT PEOPLE OF THIS GOD FEARING NATION WHO WENT BEFORE US WORKING JUST AS HARD AS THESE WONDERFUL ENGINES TO MAKE THIS NATION INTO THE COUNTRY WE ALL ENJOY TODAY. Thank you for sharing with us.

Great Pictures everyone.
Love this thread!
Several years ago my good friend John Finnin modeled the whole American Freedom Train in O. Here's his take on the AFT tool car -- PNWC76.
And here's John's custom model of AFT power car #200, the "Bunk Car". Can you imagine sleeping next to those generators? Several of the crew did.
John has switched to (gasp) HO and, of course, tackled the AFT first thing. It was on the cover of the April 2010 issue of Model Railroad Craftsman. Still, he did some great work in O.
