Lionel 6-83604 Conrail OCS Full Dome Passenger Car has arrived

Hey guys.

Train World called last Friday and left me know my Conrail OCS StationSounds Dome Car #55 was ready to ship. Even with the Holiday weekend, I got the car last evening. Excellent service as usual from TW.

The car is as expected. No flaws or broken parts out of the box. The paint is smooth and flawless and matches the other cars in the set. It rolls nicely down the tracks. Good job Lionel.

I snapped a few pics before I left for work this morning. I did not have time to review the StationSounds. Only the lower level has illumination but the upper deck is split to allow light to shine up thru. No passengers which is now the normal for these cars.

I have the MTH set and am wondering how well this car will match up in terms of height and color. If anyone can help that would be much appreciated.

Lionel on the right, MTH in the back left

MTH on Top. Lionel on the bottom

MTH Left, Lionel right

Comparing Microscale decals to pad printing.

MTH cars are TOO gold in the lettering

The Lionel Pad printing is closest to the Microscale decals

Bottom line... the MTH set is "Cookie Cutter" streamlined set with incorrect Boat Tailed Observation, Incorrect Baggage car, Incorrect RPO car, incorrect "Smooth Side" full dome car instead of fluted sides to match MTH set.

The Lionel is more realistic besides the car length.

WEll I recieved my Conrail Full Dome #55. It looked liked the picture above with one caveot, look at the wiring to the trucks. I notices my trucks binding because the wiring from the car is entangeling itself on the rivit for the power pick-up
