I need a picture of the mother board for this engine and or a schematic.I have a 7 pin connector which had 4 wires connected to it, but the wires became disconnected.

From the parts list on lionelsupport.com, for Product No. 6-11321 C&O Legacy Mallet, it doesn't appear that this model has a traditional motherboard. So, you must be talking about one of the other boards.
Is this board in the tender or in the locomotive?
this is in the engine and is the main board
Thats the board,The 7 pin connector at the bottom ,next to the capacitor had 4 wires attached to it.I need to know, what pin# each wire is connected. There is a gray wire from the run/program switch,a yellow wire from the odyssey switch,a red wire from the main smoke switch and a black wire from the aux.smoke switch, all were connected to that connector.
Try this. I've highlighted the 7-pin connector in yellow. Unfortunately, and as always with Lionel, wire colors are either not labelled on the schematic, or might not match. Spin the photo I posted earlier 180 degrees to match this orientation to make it easier to follow:
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
Thankyou for the diagram.Igot everything wired up.My new problem is ,the engine will not respond to command control. It runs conventionally.Tried reprogramming to no avail.Any thoughts?
Good. You're halfway there.
Is this the only engine you have that doesn't respond to command control?
Check the pins closely on the TMCC receiver, it's the small board perched on the larger RCMC. This model came out before Lionel started soldering the TMCC receiver onto the RCMC, and it had fragile pins and also is easy to knock out of the socket.
yes, this is the only engine that does not respond.
John's suggestion is a good start.
Also make sure that the antenna wire is properly connected to that board, especially if it was temporarily disconnected when you removed the shell to get inside.
Finally make sure that the antenna, i.e. the handrails, aren't accidentally short-circuited to the shell or frame.
