Have a 6-8363 B&O F3 diesel that needs two new horns. Were they glued on? The one is super tight and I haven't taken the cab off yet. How were they original affixed? Just starting the project.
Thanks!

Looks like they were a tight press fit.

I want to say they’re glued in from the factory.....I’d pick a drill bit that’s best suited to the size of the new horns your going to install, and just drill a hole right through the old ones stuck in their holes....if you happen to have a small finger operated twist drill, that’d make nice precise work, like a small jewelers drill....if you do use an electric drill, be ready for when it pops through, so the drill don’t come crashing down on top of those shells....the subsequent explosion will not be pretty......Pat
Typically those MPC plastic horns were a press fit, followed by heat staking (melting) the mounting tab to hold it into place.

Larry...try to tap them out from the INSIDE....gently I have had good results......good luck....joe
Thanks, everyone!
Larry, if you want to remove horns from a B&O F-3, why post a photo of a Milwaukee Road F-3?
They come out fairly easily. Just changes them out on an F3 B&O. Take an awl and gently work them from top and underside. No need to use a hammer, just tap lightly with your hand. Chip lightly at the melted plastic and eventually they will come lose

Since the image is not a B&O, is that the unit you are having the issue with?
