just added the cruise commander m to the sp articulated as it has a very fast slow speed with lionel  tmcc1.  The  engine will not run very slow until speed step number 3 or4.  All my other engines with this conversion just creep on speed step 1.  What is the deal with this engine, is it geared higher than other lionel engines.  I know I read somewhere that you could not pair this engine with other lionel engines.  I have a fairly slow speed in the 100 step mode but when you go to the next step the speed increase is quite faster than it should be.  Anyone notice this and did the legacy version for this engine take care of that.   thanks for any help

Usually when an engine doesn't move at speed step one it means the resistance in the drive train is greater than normal. If this has only one motor it has double the drive train component friction that the motor has to overcome. Removing the shell and turning the flywheel by hand will give an indication if there is any binding.

Have you programed the cruise board for large motor and also 100 step mode? This is not the same as selecting R100 on the Cab2 but a series of keystrokes on the handheld.
