Thanks, Bill! You took me straight to it.I was having trouble with my smoke unit and while testing my regulator I saw smoke come from two boards. I don't know if I should just buy all four. I also want to put a new generator. I'll be happy to purchase from you folks. The two that I believe are burned are#34 and # 35. Thanks again.

Item 35 is only available from lionel. We can sell you all the boards, but I think you might be better off taking it to a service center. If you install new boards, its possible to smoke the new ones.

If I replace each board I can still " smoke" one? Where I live there is no service center nearby. The closest one is an hour away and I definitely don't want the man working on my trains. I've done business with him before and I just don't trust him. I would also be replacing the regulator. Fact is, mrepairing is one of the areas of the hobby that I enjoy. Thanks again.

Well, I did a little more testing this evening. When # 36(r4lc) is installed onto the motherboard by itself the smoke unit works as it should with legacy. Voltage increase from low to medium to high.Voltage decrease from high to medium to low. Seems this would deem the voltage regulater good(?). When #35 installed is when the trouble starts-no smoke unit control at all. It runs as soon as the track is powered up and will not shut of until track power is removed. As for board#34, it is burnt for sure. During all this the loco sound does not work nor will it move. Lights and couplers work. So, I think I need # 34 and #35.
Are you indicating you can get me these parts? Again, thanks.

I can't get item 35, you will need to contact lionel for that. All others I can get. Item 35 is repairable or replaced by lionel only.
