I'm looking around for some trains to run at the Syracuse show tomorrow, and I noticed that I have 2 tank cars that are in yellow boxes, marked Lionel Limited Edition. one is Cities Service and the other a Gulf Oil (GATX). Neither thave been run.
Should I keep them as they are or are they not "limited" enough to be worth it, and run them?

Cars were taken from a MPC limited edition set.

Yes, those are from MPC limited edition sets. If my memory serves, those sets were something like 10,000 or fewer produced. A lot of the sets were broken up when they were new.
People like them for the diecast sprung trucks. Time and changing tastes have really settled prices down on those cars.
The Cities Service tank car came from the Milwaukee Road Limited set (1978). Your Gulf tank car came from the Southern Pacific Limited set (1979).
