Like Ron said, you can just cut the plug off and carefully strip about 2" off the outer insulation only (do not cut into the center wires) - that should then reveal three smaller wires - red, black and white. Cut the white wire back to the where the outer insulation ends and just hook up the red and black wires as you would with any other accessory. The white wire is not needed for your application. Put some regular or liquid electrical tape over the cut end of the white wire, if you can.

If you want to save the plug from being cut off, Lionel makes a connector for just this purpose and converts the plug to just a red and black wire. It is SKU:6-82038.

If the accessory runs off 16-18 a/c volts and you run your track at 16-18 volts, you can just connect the wires directly to the underside of a piece of Fastrack.
