Lionel postwar 264 forklift platform

I have a postwar Lionel 264 forklift platform that I just took out of 20+ year storage. It works fine but my new layout has fastrack. The under track part has a flange and will not accomodate fastrack. Solutions A) flatten flange. Solution B) Use transition piece and use tubular track for platform. Solution C) Help me.

I would simply trim the roadbed from the sides of the Fastrack to fit the lumber loader. Lionel also offers 1 3/8 inch section of Fastrack, item number 6-12074.
