Methinks you will have to make one yourself

They are made so the customer does not remove them but forum members have made their own. I am sure they are on line.

A friend ground down an old screwdriver to a triangle shape, to open a similar CW40 transformer. I think one guy said he managed to unscrew them with an allen wrench. Harbor Freight or other sources may have the special triangular screwdriver bits.

If you need a custom screwdriver that bad, try Snap-on Tools, they make custom automotive tools and I am sure they will have something, a bit pricey though.

I bought a set of the screwdrivers from Amazon: needed them to take apart wooden Thomas locos. 

I have three CW-80s and two of them have fans that rattle or moan when first starting up, for about five minutes.  Not worth the trouble ot taking them apart, though.  I've never been a fan of taking apart transformers.

The driver you're after is available from Amazon as both a single driver or as part of a set of three. However don't expect too much from the single one as it's cheaply made and as I discovered it won't likely last if you accidently over-torque with it.

Harbor Freight Tools sells a security drill bit set with very long shanks.  About 20 different ones for around 10 bucks.  Great to have in a pinch.  These are not made in America real steel, of course, but they are handy for that CW80 screw and that weird one on your microwave oven.

Agreed, I took the time to swap out my bad fan. The next Christmas "the magic smoke" was released from the transformer. My wiring look OK.... But, there you are. 

Can anyone confirm the exact size of the screws on the CW80? I looked up each of the screwdrivers on Amazon etc and they all seem to be different sizes. Examples are T3 or T2.3 which I believe is the metric measurement of the triangle. I'm just not sure which one would fit the CW80. Thanks.

The CW80 is triangle 3.0, the PH180 is slotted security (that's a slot with a square center raise) and the Legacy base power supply is triangle 2.3

In case you hadn't thought of it...

Put back regular screws when you re-assemble the CW-80.  That way you won't have to go find the triangle head screwdriver next time.  My ground-down homemade screwdriver has only so many unscrews left before it starts not working. 

Hope I'm not "stating the obvious!"

I took one a part,if you can live with I wouldn't,unless they redesigned the cw80 its a bit of a chore taking it apart and putting it back together.

But, I didn't see a triangular head screwdriver.

Lowes has a kit that has two in it. It was one of the micro sets with 24 or so small tips.

I tried to take a pic didn't come ouy so well. There are 2 different sizes on the right.The kit was $10 bucks or so.
